The basic training training lasts 1 day and must be taken prior to the heating course commencing.}

^{Electrical Wiring of system controls. This is done initially on training boards with fully working heat packs. Students will wire Y plan, S plan and S plan+. Students will then perform routine function checks on their wiring and control boards. This training usually lasts about 1.5 days max and is the basis for the rest of the practical training.
